PROJECTS SANCTIONED

  1. Food quality monitoring using novel low-cost antenna based sensor (2021-2022)

In this project our key focus is to develop a highly sensitive miniature graphene based microstrip antenna sensor that can analyze the food material without deteriorating its quality. At present no such graphene based microstrip antenna sensor has been developed for evaluating the food quality. Further graphene can detect minimal amounts of foreign substances, even a single molecule in a large volume can be detected with it. It has waterproof properties which further makes it much reliable to use with liquid materials in addition to solid materials as well. Moreover, as graphene structures are highly stable under harsh chemical conditions, therefore  graphene based antenna sensors can work well for a longer time.

Project Cost: 7.4 Lakhs                                                         Sponsoring Agency: TIET-VT (CEEMS)

Co-PI: Dr. Rajesh Khanna                                                     Start Date: August 11, 2022

           2. Miniaturized Bio-Implantable MICS and ISM Band Antennas for Biomedical Devices (2021-2024)

In this project, our key focus is to develop a flexible, superstrate loaded, low footprint, tissue-independent biocompatible antenna with enhanced gain and more expanded SAR distribution for Cardiac Pacemaker System that can operate in an unpredictable and dynamic environment. It will be able to operate effectively in any tissue type and will be independent of patient’s attributes such as age, sex and weight etc. It will be able to work effectively even if the tissue environment local to the implant antenna changes over time. Therefore, our proposed antenna will be helpful in diagnosing and treating a wide range of medical conditions in a wide range of patients. In-silico, in-vitro and ex-vivo testing for validation of the proposed antenna will be done to ensure that antenna is working under all circumstances.

Project Cost: 15.10 Lakhs                                                     Sponsoring Agency: TIET-VT (CEEMS)

Co-PI: Dr. Rajesh Khanna                                                     Start Date: September 6, 2021

           3. Food Quality Monitoring Using Novel Graphene Based Microstrip Antenna Sensor (2022-2024)

In this project, we shall design a novel microstrip antenna based sensor that is simple enough for determining toxic and organic containments in different food materials (solids and liquids) in order to mitigate the health hazards that are associated  with food adulteration.

Project Cost: 1 Lakh (seed money project of one year)        Sponsoring Agency: TIET-VT (CEEMS)

      Co-PI: Dr. Rajesh Khanna                                                      Duration: July 1, 2021-June 30, 2022
